Everything your pet needs under one roof.
At Care Animal Hospital, we offer a variety of services to care for your pet that extend beyond basic veterinary services. If you have any questions or would like more information on how we can care for your pet, please contact us today.
Bathing
Did your fur buddy lose a battle to a skunk? Did they go for a swim in the neighborhood pond? We are here for you! We may not have a professional groomer but we definitely have staff standing by to take care of any basic grooming needs. We bathe with the best of them and trim nails like pros!
Pet Boarding
Pets are like our children – we provide full boarding services including blankets, food, water, toys, and lots of affection. Dogs are walked several times a day and are supervised seven days a week.
Dental Care
Did you know that dogs have 42 teeth and cats have 30? Were you aware that cats can get cavities? More importantly, did you know that they require dental cleanings just like us?
We are pleased to offer full anesthetic dental cleanings, dental radiographs, tooth extractions, and dental health prevention education.
Advanced Imaging
Sometimes what is ailing our patients isn’t always clear which is why we are proud to offer digital radiography and ultrasound. These advanced imaging tools allow us to see beyond the physical exam and find those hidden illnesses.
Digital Radiographs:
We are pleased to offer in-clinic digital radiographs. This non-invasive technique allows us to obtain a two-dimensional view of internal body structures. This technique is particularly helpful in diagnosing potential areas of pain and disease in the bone. We also offer same-day radiology consultations from board-certified radiologists.
Ultrasound:
Dr. Downie is proud to be able to offer in-clinic ultrasound for a variety of issues. Sometimes in order to best diagnosis what is going on, we need a more detailed and in-depth picture of the involved organs or soft tissue. We are able to use this minimally invasive and low-stress technique to obtain views of the heart, lungs, abdominal organs, bladder, adrenal glands, and many more.
in-House Laboratory
Care Animal Hospital offers in-house laboratory testing for dogs and cats at our vet clinic in Tulsa, OK. Our laboratory allows us to diagnose various medical conditions in-house without having to send samples to another lab and wait for test results.
This allows us to monitor your pet’s treatment and recovery process after certain procedures more efficiently than other clinics — that means fewer necessary visits and a smaller bill for you! We perform the following diagnostic tests on-site at our vet hospital:
- CBC (Complete Blood Counts)
- Blood chemistry panels to evaluate internal organ function
- Parvovirus testing
- Feline Leukemia and Feline Immunodeficiency Virus testing
- Heartworm disease
- Electrolyte evaluation
- Cytology of skin and ear samples
If your pet requires additional testing, we partner with an outside reference lab that offers overnight testing on specialized tests that we cannot perform. For more information about our on-site laboratory diagnostic testing, call Care Animal Hospital today!
Microchipping
Did you know that 1 out of every 3 pets will go missing during its lifetime? Without proper ID, up to 90% of these pets never return home.
Here at Care Animal Hospital, we are proud to offer HomeAgain® microchipping. Microchips are a small device, about the size of a grain of rice, implanted beneath the skin and between the shoulder blades. Should your best friend ever go missing all shelters and veterinary hospitals are equipped with scanners to check any stray animals. Given our likelihood of severe weather, we are strong believers in making sure every pet has the best chance to find its way back home.
HomeAgain Pet Recovery Service has reunited over 2 million lost pets with their families! With a HomeAgain microchip, your pet gets lifetime registration in the HomeAgain National Pet Recovery Database. To ensure your pet is fully protected, HomeAgain also offers pet owners additional membership benefits with access to 24/7 Lost Pet Specialists, Rapid Lost Pet Alerts, Personalized Lost Pet Posters, a 24/7 Emergency Medical Hotline, and Found Pet Travel Assistance.

Pain Management
It’s not always easy to know if your best friend is in pain and we are here to help. We offer a variety of tools to help us access potential pain as well as medications to help ease the discomfort during healing.
We also partner with other area facilities that offer acupuncture, light laser therapy, as well as rehabilitation services.
Pharmacy
We are proud to offer a completely stocked on-site pharmacy. We know that having to drive to a second location to fill medications is time consuming and not at all convenient so we do our best to save you the trip.
We also have the ability to mail certain medications if you are unable to come in. Please let us know at the time of request if this is something you’d like.
We can also order specialty medications! If you need something let us know and we will do our absolute best to get it for you.
Surgery
Here at Care Animal Hospital, we understand that any time a pet needs a surgical procedure it’s a big deal! With that in mind we work hard to offer the most advanced surgical techniques and technology to our patients. Our team attends yearly continuing education classes to help us stay on top of the best practices in our industry.
We offer pre-surgical bloodwork to help us detect any potential issues with anesthesia and because of that our anesthetic procedures are specifically tailored to your pet and their unique needs.
Our surgery suite offers heated surgery tables for greater comfort, advanced sterilization techniques, ECG and oxygen saturation monitors, as well as intensive after surgery care. From the moment your best friend enters our facility they are never out of sight of our caring staff so that we can monitor any subtle changes in behavior or pain level.

We also offer laser surgery!
We are proud to offer surgical laser for many of our procedures such as spays, neuters, declaws, growth removals, cystotomy’s, and eyelid tumor removals. This technology offers us the ability to replace a scalpel blade which means less pain and bleeding as well as reduced swelling and infection. This means our best friends typically feel better faster!
We are firm believers that using this technology, whenever possible, is the best standard of care. We are happy to discuss any concerns or questions about this technology so don’t hesitate to reach out.
Walk-Ins
We understand that sometimes you can’t call ahead and let us know you are on your way because your best friend didn’t give you a heads up they weren’t feeling well. We do accept walk-in appointments, however, please be aware that there sometimes might be a wait. We will work closely with you to keep you apprised of any wait times that might be happening.
Wellness Care
Here at Care Animal Hospital, we believe that an ounce of prevention is worth its weight in gold! We offer a complete range of wellness services including complete physical exams, vaccinations, parasite checks, bloodwork, advanced imaging, blood pressure checks, dietary counseling, and behavior resources.
We believe that vaccinations are a big part of wellness care due to the unique challenges we face here in green country. We will be happy to discuss the benefits of protecting your pet with vaccinations, as well as, provide you with information on the required vaccinations for your pet.
Acupuncture
Acupuncture is an alternative therapy where thin needles are inserted into specific points on a pet’s body to promote healing and relieve pain from conditions like arthritis, hip dysplasia, allergies, and neurological issues. Administered by a certified veterinary acupuncturist, sessions last 10-30 minutes and are usually well-tolerated by pets. Benefits include pain relief, improved mobility, reduced inflammation, enhanced post-surgical recovery, and support for neurological conditions. Safe and often used alongside conventional veterinary care, acupuncture offers a holistic treatment option for various pet health issues.
